a goal of mine

The new Counting Crows album came out recently. I bought it today. Adam did not disappoint. Somehow his passionate and honest lyrics twist in and around the piano strings and among the hollows of the guitar to reveal a story that takes you to another place. Locations are a consistent motif of his work.

Which is a goal of mine, I want to visit every location Adam sings about. In this album, Nashville is mentioned. Check. Spain and Omaha (Somewhere in the middle of America) are yet to be checked off my list. Maybe that's how I will organize my ultimate road trip across America.

last minute

I'm going to Chi town this weekend. Kind of last minute. (my favorite kind of trip) I'm on a mission to pamper and love on one of my bestest friends. I can't wait to have the ultimate girls weekend out. There will be presents there will be spirits, which will lead to ultimate prank calls. There will be shopping and shoes. There will be dancing and there will be enough laughter and giggling to fill the famous Bean. I really can't wait.

on another last minute note, I got a haircut on Friday. This is a picture of what I showed the hairdresser that I did not want.



After I coached her through it, I finally approved the finished project. I love it!

I was so relieved to see that someone shares this secret with me. I wonder if he incorperates an impression of Julia Child in his production. I find that it adds so much.
